Last weekend I was at Gathering of the Vibes, an amazing 3 day music festival held each year. I haven’t been to this fest since 2002 unfortunately and was glad to see that the same spirit remained. A ton of amazing bands played. Tens of thousands of people camped next to their cars, partied with strangers, swam in the ocean(the campground is on the south edge of Bridgeport, CT) and chilled out. The Black Crowes played an amazing set. There were reggae beats everywhere. Phil Lesh’s new band(he forms a new one about every 2 years) tore it up for nearly 3 hours, and if you are looking for an interesting concert, check out his new lineup. His guitarist, Larry Campbell, is from Bob Dylan’s band and the addition of Jackie Greene seals the deal. They are doing a run of NOVEMBER 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18 in New York – plus shows elsewhere. A sample show can be heard here
